CAREERS THAT CHANGE LIVES - POSITION DESCRIPTION:
 

Plans, directs, and monitors the activities of a Mechanical Circulatory Support sales team within a specified region/district/geography to achieve established sales targets. Develops and/or implements business strategies for existing and potential accounts. Manages the day-to-day activities of a sales team in order to implement the organization's overall sales strategy for an assigned region/district/geography. Develops and maintains strong relationships with all key account personnel and relevant functions in order to support selling, market development, service efforts and clinical programs. Identifies opportunities and develops new programs to meet the organization's sales plans to increase market share. Assesses need for the addition of new selling programs and processes, conducts competitive analysis, and implements strategies. Coaches sales representatives on the technical aspects of the organization's products and services; on marketing campaigns and sales promotions; and on sales techniques, procedures, and standards that will help them achieve their sales targets.

 
 

A DAY IN THE LIFE:  POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leads, directs and reviews the work of a sales team whose responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Promotes and sells Medtronic's Mechanical Circulatory Support and Cardiac Surgery products and services within an assigned geographic area and /or specific customer accounts to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Responsible for developing, building, and strengthening long-term relationships with stakeholders including physicians, cardiologists, and other hospital personnel.
  • Responsible for pursuing leads, assessing needs and providing product services to maximize the benefits derived from Medtronic's HeartWare Ventricular Assist Device (HVAD) product and technology.
  • Provides general support, information and demonstration of HVAD system to surgeons, nurses, research coordinators,cardiologists and other hospital personnel to facilitate optimal outcomes during implant, post-operative care and long-term use of the HVAD system.
  • Supports all aspects of Medtronic's Mechanical Circulatory Support business at assigned implanting and non-implanting study sites.
  • Conducts and/or evaluates market research including customers’ and competitors’ activities.
  • Develops and/or implements market development plans/strategies and changes as needed.
  • Assesses customer needs and feedback regarding new products and/or modifications to existing products and communicates to internal stakeholders including R&D, Operations and Marketing.

 

 
MUST HAVE - BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, THE FOLLOWING BASIC QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE EVIDENT ON YOUR RESUME

 
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5 years of medical sales experience
 
NICE TO HAVE - DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3 years of sales leadership experience
  • Preference will be given to local qualified candidates and candidates with Medtronic experience
  • Successful medical sales record, preferably with pacing or stent products
  • Experience with sales and personnel management functions
  • Knowledge of pacing or interventional cardiology customer base
  • Additional experience in marketing, training, technical services or related areas
