A Day in the Life
As OR Service Manager you will provide effective service management of the IHS Managed Service. You will be acting as a role model for Duna Medical Center (DMC) and Integrated Health Solutions (IHS) staff and an ambassador for the services and facilities.
- Lead the implementation, delivery and growth of Managed Services at Duna Medical Center (DMC).
- Support the Hospital management and the Operating Room team in planning and scheduling of the materials used in the Operating Room
- Provide appropriate operational and managerial support throughout the department.
- Engage with the relevant stakeholders at DMC and work in cooperation maintaining continuous contact with each other.
- Assess and recognize future opportunities, suggest strategies and/or business models to support or enhance opportunities and to grow related services.
Professional Standards
- Establish road-map and develop actionable plans and any immediate improvement and costs savings within the OR.
- Drive implementation, coach and develop local project or staff resources.
- Work closely with the IHS organization to deliver ‘Best in Class’ service.
- Promote best evidence based practice within own scope of practice.
- Develop and support business initiatives and strategies with the aim to improve the service delivered to all patients and family members.
Budget and System Management
- Ensure Corrective and Preventative Action planning are in place and forms part of the measurement and reporting process for Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
- Ensure effective purchasing systems are in place for equipment, devices and consumables.
- Make the required returns to the company, host institution and regulatory bodies and prepare any required reports.
- Communicate on a regular basis with staff regarding the Departments objectives, plans and business development.
- Together with Finance, ensure the billing is accurate.
Planning and Scheduling
- Measure, record and report the utilization of Operating Room and Operating Room Equipment
- Identify and analyze gaps in utilization of Operating Room and Operating Room Equipment
Material and Chain Management
- Work together with the Material management analyst to ensure smooth material management process at DMC.
- Carry out the planning of materials and supplies according to the needs of the OR procedure schedule together with the DMC OR staff.
- Reorder the clinical consumables according to the needs of the OR procedure schedule.
- Manage the scrap/obsolescence materials according to the IHS work instructions.
- Undertake the handling of the inventory of the OR and picklist (creating orders, consumption tracking, storage, periodic inventory counts (monthly and annually)).
- Collaborate with the clinical staff of DMC in stock management.
Managed Equipment Services (MES)
- Work with the IHS Managed Equipment Services team (MES) team to ensure an efficient and effective operation of the equipment within the DMC OR.
- Collaborate with the IHS MES team to guarantee Equipment best functioning and efficient troubleshooting, Keep Asset Max software updated and send regular reports on activities done. Keep archive for inspection.
- Ensure procedures are in place to respond to potential disruptions to the operation of the service.
- Collaborate with MES team to facilitate discussions with DMC relating to equipment.
- Collaborate with MES team during the equipment delivery, local coordination with supplier and hospital of slots for installations and supervision of local legislation fulfilment for Equipment go-live”.
Quality Management, Regulatory Affairs and Risk
- Act in accordance with laws and regulations applicable to the services provided and:
- Report product, logistics and service complaints concerning the products or services delivered by Medtronic.
- Execute Field Safety Corrective actions regarding products provisioned by Medtronic
- Execute and monitor CAPA (Corrective-Action-Preventive-Action) concerning services provided by Medtronic.
- Adhere to Medtronic and Integrated Health Solutions’ policies and protocols of applicability to the services provided by Medtronic.
- Adhere to requirements included in the Quality Agreement, to be signed off with the hospital.
Must haves:
- Registered Nurse/ Clinician as per local registration requirements
- English and Hungarian languages written and spoken
- Computer skills
- Competent across a range of clinical skills supported by professional competence and knowledge.
- Minimum 5-year experience in a multi-OR environment in a hospital with a broad spectrum of surgical procedures
