A Day in the Life
The Principal Trainer and Educational Specialist will join our Medical Surgical Sales Enablement team and be the subject matter expert of adult education learning and communication to own messaging, training, and overall change management for the Configure Price Quote (CPQ) platform within Salesforce.com (SFDC) for the US and will have opportunities to participate in, or lead, upstream projects that simplify, automate, or mobilize the Commercial Organization.
The Principal Trainer and Educational Specialist will leverage strong interpersonal and project management skills to support the release of new capabilities, onboard new users, and build competencies for existing users, based on the CPQ Roadmap outlined by the CPQ Platform Manager. The Principal Trainer and Educational Specialist will also track and report on the success of training measures and make recommendations on how to better design programs to achieve maximum results.
This role will work closely with the CPQ and Sales Enablement Leadership Teams to champion best practices in training, adoption, and change management of the CPQ platform.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Contributes to defining the direction for new products, processes, standards, or operational plans based on business strategy with a significant impact on work group results
- Leverage Project Management skills to create and manage training, communication, and change management plans for small to medium-sized CPQ projects; communicate project and task status effectively to CPQ and Sales Enablement leadership teams and key stakeholders as applicable
- Design and deliver a commercial training curriculum for CPQ to accommodate the CPQ user community, including Regional Managers, Commercial Sellers, and Implementation Partners
- Develop Change Management strategy to support CPQ user-engagement and adoption initiatives
- Use all available inputs, particularly from seller VOC and root cause analysis of Support Case data, to understand the commercial training and development needs of the Business Unit and adapt strategy accordingly
- Collaborate with Commercial Excellence team members to align measurement of training impact & performance overview during regular business reviews
- Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with CPQ Project Teams, Business Sponsors, and Stakeholders
- Participate in daily CPQ production support calls and ad hoc meetings relative to new CPQ features or enhancements
- Facilitate CPQ Open Forum sessions to share best practices and answer end user questions
- Manage the CPQ Chatter Groups in SFDC, link to CPQ Ambassador and Super User Teams
- Work with CPQ Product Owner in the execution of CPQ initiatives
- Creates and maintain VOC for CPQ by deploying existing, new, or enhanced customer listening mechanisms (surveys, interviews, customer councils, contact center, social media, portal feedback), conduct trend analysis, communicate top issues to support the definition and implementation of process improvements
- Create and maintain end user training materials (e.g., How To Documents) for CPQ
- Refresh and maintain LMS Curriculum for RMS and SI by identifying gaps in training materials and developing a plan to address / fill gaps
- Create and maintain CPQ program certification process for end users
- Other Projects as assigned focused on enhancements that simplify, automate, and mobilize
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
Nice to Have
- Technical project management experience in a Scrum/Agile environment required; CAPM/PMP or similar a plus
- Working knowledge of Salesforce.com
- Experience with a Learning Management System
- Ability to understand end-audience needs and requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of project management principles, practices and tools.
- Experience delivering and supporting business critical applications in a fast-paced corporate environment
- Experience working with adult educational learning and/or field sales organizations in a health care environment
- Experienced and effective in different training settings, commands attention and can manage group
- Proficient using Zoom/Webex, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams
- Working knowledge of Apttus; experience with contract and quote development
- Experience analyzing and responding to VOC
