Medtronic Tempe Campus, located in Tempe, Arizona, is looking for a night shift Technician II to support Battery Process Engineering.

A Day in the Life
In this position, you will support shift sustaining process engineering in a 24X7 manufacturing operation that uses grinding/polishing/cleaning for metal finishing. This will be a night shift position on a compressed work week schedule. You will work from 5:30 PM to 5:30 AM Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday, or Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and starting the work week every other Wednesday.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Sustaining, characterizing, and qualifying metal finishing processes/equipment. (Must have demonstrable skills and knowledge of grind/polish/cleaning equipment/processes.)
- Troubleshooting and resolving metal finishing equipment/process issues
- Performing replacement, dress and conditioning of grind/polish wheels
- Performing fixture preventive and corrective maintenance
- Performing equipment qualification (installation/qualification), test method validation, and documentation updates
- Meeting operational attainment of Safety, Quality, and Service goals.
- Performing duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies, or governmental regulations.
- Identifying and working to remove barriers that slow or prevent the successful completion of projects.
Must Have – Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education and advanced certification in addition to prior work experience
Nice to Have
- Associate of Science Degree in a related discipline or Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or similar technical discipline
- Direct manufacturing experience with grind/polish/cleaning equipment or similar work experience
- Direct experience qualifying and sustaining grind/polish/cleaning process technologies, with relevant experience with process characterization, design of experiments, equipment qualification, statistical process control, and data analysis methodologies
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrated experience working in a highly cross-linked technical work environment.
