A Day in the Life
As the Machine Operator, you will provide daily operation of assigned machines to support the production of medical devices. This position is responsible for supporting Production in running the automated blast units and coordination of all operations activities associated with blasting of implantable devices. This support includes; operating and maintaining the automated blast unit, understanding how product is loaded and unloaded for blasting, and how to inspect product after blasting. Learn and understand the master lathe, blast heat, blast unit, dust collector operation control and maintenance.
Employee works with members of the organization as an advocate for increasing effectiveness in the blasting step and supports the business through improvements and preventative actions. You will work on our 2nd shift production team Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
You will:
• Set up machining machines and make adjustments and perform maintenance on machines.
• Check work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances.
• Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
• Learn and understand all tooling and set-up aids by part family, by part size.
• Load and unload tooling efficiently. One tool with part running its cycle (2-3 mins.) and loading/setting next tool with next part in lot.
• Ability to detect implant shade differences between fully processed and unprocessed implants through the specified blast operation. Stop the line at any signs of problems and investigate.
• Monitor process controls and document the completion and in process inspection of process steps on the appropriate quality records (routers & DHR’s).
• Use bar code readers to update product lot location information in Titan Spine’s inventory management system. Utilize ERP entry system for count, lot, production and quality accuracy.
• Ensure organized, visual and simple means for storing, retrieving, loading and unloading of tooling.
• Learn, understand and master lathe, blast head, blast unit, dust collector operation, air compress/dryer system, control & maintenance.
• Learn, understand and master post blasting rinse/dry process
• Occasionally asked to cross-train in other areas such as chemical etch, cleanroom packaging, inspection and pack-out.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and minimum of 8 years experience
Nice to Have
Experience with commonly used software such as Microsoft Office suite etc.

· Good verbal and written communication skills.
· Hands on attitude to completing tasks within budget and timeframes.
· Has experience in ISO 13485 and FDA Medical Quality Systems.
