The Principal IT Developer will be accountable for developing SAP CRM programs and associated development lifecycle (Medtronic System Compliance Methodology) deliverables.  This position requires completing all steps of the MSCM including: interpretation of functional requirements and confirming requirements with functional business analysts, writing technical program specifications when necessary, WebUI and ABAP development, and the writing, executing, and documenting of unit test protocols.  In addition, developers may be required to assist in system unit, integration, performance and user acceptance testing.  Assignments could include conversions, reports, user-exits, and interfaces for both project and production support initiatives. 


A DAY IN THE LIFE
• Successfully resolve issues within defined service levels.
• Isolate issues determine root cause, and outline effective options to resolve issues
• Coordinate development/support life-cycle activities across multiple teams (functional and technical)
• Interact with colleagues and business partners to confirm requirements, as well as ensure solution meets needs
• Create & update appropriate documentation
• Utilize applicable tools to facilitate adequate systems monitoring & troubleshooting
• Contribute to identify and implement continuous improvement concepts to increase efficiency and maximize value to clients
• Maintain broad understanding of current software technologies 
• Work independently to estimate, design, and deliver solutions
• Ability to multi-task assignments and exercise judgment regarding escalations to senior team members or vendor
• Maintain a productive relationship with Stakeholders, Process Owners, Technical and Functional Peers through effective communications and collaboration
• Develop and maintain a strong practical understanding of technologies currently deployed within the department
• Work with Process Owners and Functional Analysts to resolve requirement gaps uncovered in design
• Define and document operational process for normal system support activities, but not limited to technical specifications, code review, unit test conditions, test plans and test data


MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)
• Bachelor’s degree
• 7+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree


NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)
• Previous Medtronic experience
• Preference given to current Medtronic employees
• Priority consideration will be given to local applicants
• Experience with SAP CRM WebUI and BDOC
• Knowledge of SAP ABAP programming tools including Report and Transaction creation, Enhancements, Conversion Programs, SAP script, and Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, LSMW, ALV Reports, Dialog Programming, Data Dictionary, RFC, Proxy, ABAP Query, ALE, EDI, BAPI, BADI and Workflow
• Experience working in SAP ASAP methodology.
• Principles and techniques of systems analysis, design, testing, and support
• Principles of program documentation
• Principles of report, screen, form and label design
• Experience with SAP Integration using IDOC, RFC, Proxy and Web Services.
• Experience working with SAP modules ECC (SD/SM/MM/PP/QM/WM/FI/CO), SCM, CRM, SRM, MDM and WEB UI
• Ability to develop, enhance and support object-oriented programing.
• Ability to contribute across all facets of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Ability to provide after hours and weekend support and travel when needed
• Solid problem-solving abilities
• Extensive experience in the OTC process
• Experience with PI/PO 
• Experience with NetWeaver Gateway and OData services
• Knowledge of external interfaces, web services and connectors to other non-SAP components
• Internal and External Customer Focused delivery
• Comprehensive understanding of complex software and information technology solutions and ability to apply to business needs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Prioritization skills.
• Analytical problem-solving skills.
