Export Compliance Analyst
This individual will be part of a blended corporate Global Trade Center of Expertise (COE) in the Enterprise Legal Regulatory team composed of lawyers and compliance professionals that combines deep substantive expertise in global trade areas core to Medtronic’s business with in-house understanding of Medtronic’s businesses.
This individual will be part of the export team for the COE. This individual will provide compliance support to help mitigate risks and maintain compliance and provide support to Global Trade Operations and other relevant Medtronic functions. Specific global trade areas of compliance consult will include but are not limited to: Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”), OFAC sanctions and trade controls, OUS export rules, sanctioned country licensing, restricted party screening, anti-boycott activity and reporting. Other stretch assignments and duties may be assigned.
This position reports to the Chief Global Trade Legal Director, Enterprise Legal Regulatory.

A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Supports export legal and compliance team to build and enhance export compliance program
- Develops, implements, administers and certifies export compliance policies, procedures, and practices
- Ensures alignment with legal and ethical standards of the organization
- Provides export compliance advice, investigates complaints and verifies deficiencies are corrected
- Develops and prioritizes employee communication and training programs that focus on the elements of a companywide compliance program; executes in coordination with OEC
- Analyzes and develops strategic priorities on metrics and audits of export compliance program; executes in coordination with Office of Ethics and Compliance
- Maintains current knowledge of export laws, regulations, and industry guidance that impact the company's compliance program
- Bachelors’ degree and 2+ years of export experience, or, an advanced degree
- Bachelor's degree specializing in Business, International Business, Economics, International Relations, Political Science preferred but not required.
- Understanding of export controls, processes, and procedures
- Problem Solving, innovation, critical thinking skills
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point and Access
- Detail oriented with strong analytical, administrative and organizational skills
- Self-motivated and possess ability to handle multiple tasks
- Excellent communication skills, grammar, writing, and people skills
