Sr Manufacturing Supervisor

In this role, you coach and supervise a group of Production Associates and Team Leaders in multiple work cells to assure the timely and cost-effective manufacturing of high quality medical devices.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for the patients we serve and an unrelenting desire to improve our business. The candidate will be well versed at achieving manufacturing goals in volume, product mix, and resource utilization to ensure quality and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements, first and foremost, while maximizing productivity.
A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives.
- Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
- Plans and administers procedures and budgets.
- Makes budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor.
- Selects and develops personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production function.
- Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas.
- Ensures safety of employees by proactively identifying safety concerns and resolving open incidents in a timely manner.
- Ensure consistency of operations practices across the value stream.
- Accountable for implementing and executing to GMP (good manufacturing practices) with direct reports.
- Drive a Quality focused culture by monitoring compliance to Quality System processes, such as system transaction compliance, documentation practices, non-conforming material, product holds, Line Clearance, etc.
- Actively participate in quality and improvement activities including Lean Sigma projects.
- Actively promote a positive environment that is focused on quality, compliance, and employee development.
- Utilizes recognition and motivational techniques/tools to drive high levels of employee satisfaction and employee engagement.
- Responsible for performance management and timely delivery of disciplinary actions.
Expected Position Results:
- Key Mfg. Ops goals and metrics are achieved consistently.
- All workflows are stable.
- Delivery of cost reduction and lead time reduction results in accordance with site and Mfg. Ops. goals.
- Compliance to safety and housekeeping standards/expectations to prevent employee injuries and/or health hazards.
- Manufacturing DL team performs work in alignment with quality systems requirements.
- Fully trained, highly engaged, highly energized, accountable DL workforce
Bachelors degree required
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in device assembly
- 1+ years supervisory experience
- Demonstrated ability to interact with employees in all levels in a professional, engaging, professional and constructive manner.
- Good organizational and visual management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically (written and verbal).
- Personal computer skills in a variety of software programs such as MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, inventory management system, and MES (manufacturing execution systems) that support the manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead organizational changes.
- Experience in a regulated environment (e.g. FDA or medical device)
- Lean, Six Sigma and Just-In-Time manufacturing experience such as Lean Sigma Green Belt certification or higher
- ISO 9000 experience
- Assembly automation experience
- Understands Statistical Process Control
- Demonstrated ability to transform a workflow to a fully mature, efficient and lean operation.
- Experience with Kronos Time Management System
